Tank should be densely planted, and preferably be places so that it receives a bit of sunlight.Temperature around 22 degrees(although the fish wil also spawn at 9 degrees!), fresh neutral water, and a small filter in the corner. In such a tank a pair should be added, and fed well for a few days, with live or frozen food. Up to 300 eggs are laid, sometimes all at once, sometimes over a period of weeks, and placed on the plants by the female.
